Man and Woman Living in Perfect Harmony?, 18 Oct., 01
Although I can't back this up with scripture, I can back it up with a revelation from God!
Now a days, divorce is at an all time high. Many put more value into their automobile loan
contract than they do their marriage contract. Relationship books are selling at an all time high as well. I think that anyone married will admit that companionship between a husband and a wife
can be a challenge at times and requires constant attention of both partners.
But according to the Bible, Eve was created to be a companion to Adam (Hold up ladies before you
jump to conclusions. I'm not going to say what you think...). They obviously took walks together in the garden, I think it safe to assume that they spoke to one another. After all, Eve asked Adam is
he wanted a bite of the apple. It sounds as if they spent quality time with one another. Something that is lacking in most relationships. Whether it be due to outside forces, i.e. job, children or other.
I think it safe to assume that they had a Perfect Relationship. What happened then? Remember after eating of the Forbidden Fruit? Sin came over the earth.
I believe that part of this sin that was induced on the earth was not only the severing of Adam & Eve's relationship with God, but the severing of their very own relationship between themselves, and has been present ever since...
Hostages in Afganistan, 28 Oct., 01
What really disappoints me about our press is their reporting on the hostages currently being held
in Afganistan. You know, the 2 Americans that once attended Baylor University?!
In my opinion, the sad part is - the American press reports only about the 2 Americans. Many are
unaware that there are 6 others in captivity with them. Four Germans and 2 Australians. However, the news very rarely mentions the other 6.
What gets me is true, 2 are Americans, but ALL 8 are Christians! God is not a respector of persons,
should we be? Should we only pray for the release of the 2 Americans? Of course not! But in not being made aware of THE WHOLE story, many are unaware of the other 6 captives.
It just disappoints me to no end that the American News Service is so narrow minded as to only report on "our own". However, if Helmut Schmidt were to pass gas while at the White House I'm sure it would make headline news!
Prayer of Jabez, 17 Nov,01
I can feel the anger already swelling. How dare I attack the Prayer of Jabez. I know, I know, it's
worked miracles in many lives. But hear me out...
I won't deny that this prayer is powerful, but have you really looked at the content? Does the
prayer sound familiar? If you said yes, than I ask you to compare it to (as many call) The Lords Prayer (I tend to think of it as The Believers Prayer because Jesus said "pray in this fashion." It is
a prayer for us, not the Lord). If you said no, then I urge you to pick up your Bible and begin reading!
In my opinion, the prayer of Jabez is nothing more than a condensed version of The Lords Prayer.
What disappoints me to some degree is the hoopla that it's getting. The thousands of dollars being made by writers, publishers and the like by reproducing something that's been there (in the Bible) all along.
I know, you can argue that perhaps because of the power of this prayer that it's bringing others to God. But on the other hand, is it bringing them for the right reason(s)? Because of the power that
many have realized of this prayer, The Prayer of Jabez is on the verge of being idolized. People are giving the glory to the prayer rather than to whom it belongs.
In addition, yes, I've read excerpts as to the miracles that follow this prayer, but I believe that miracles will follow any prayer and any of Gods Word provided it's spoken with faith and conviction. The Bible tells me so...
Abortion, 5 Feb, 02
Now that I've got your attention...
Perhaps one of the best bumper stickers that I read was: "If that's not a baby in your belly, what is it?"
I find it astounding that many find abortion as an acceptable means of birth control. The effort of
insemination does not happen by accident. It occurs most often between two consenting adults. Of course there is the issue of rape, but that's another subject). Two consulting adults that are aware
of the possibility of pregnancy. If they aren't, I beg to differ as to whether they are really adults!
Who are they, we, to determine at what age, an embryo is considered "worthy" of life?
It irks me to no end to hear these "adults" saying, "but I've got to finish school, I've got my job to worry about, I just can't handle a child in my life". Why didn't they think of that before doing the
"hokey pokey"? Where was their head then. Wait a minute, don't answer that!
By granting them an easy way out called abortion, what do they learn about responsibility for
their actions? Many humans (us Christians being an exception) will follow the road of less resistance. Abortion is an easy choice because it's easy, quick and inexpensive. In some states, a
minors parents don't even have to be notified of the impending murder!
As soon as that heart starts beating, that yet unborn child is alive. To suck it from the womb to be
disposed and/or dismembered so that the body parts may be sold for profit is murder in my book. It the book of the law as well. Only we/society makes an exception for a still yet unborn child
because "it" is not worthy yet of the gift of life. Besides, the parents know better...
Satans twist on his atack of the Church, 4 Mar, 03
Although I don't claim to have the gift of prophecy, I believe that satan has shifted gears getting more sinister in the way(s) he attacks the Church.
Within just the last year, two friends, both Ministers, have had their marriage attacked. These weren't ordinary marriages. Both of these were marriages truly "made in heaven". Mates brought
together through Gods divine intervention. Their friends and religious communities rejoiced at how God had brought both together. They were each a miracle.
But since, satan has driven a wedge between each marriage. Breaking up that "power of two". In doing so, he has caused each to doubt themselves. And I'm sure that he hopes it to be a blow to
their faith. I know in the case of one, those who were rejoicing just month's before of Gods miricle are now telling the one to "leave 'em, it's not meant to be". It's amazing how fast people forget...
But hey, what does the Bible tell us? Satan comes how quick? So true.
Although it's no doubt been an emotional roller coaster for each, neither has faltered in their faith
of their Lord! However you must admit that each (event) has dealt a blow to the Church and I'm sure that those of lesser faith are having a good time with it.
I guess my point is, satan has been attacking the Church since the beginning. It started with Adam and Eve, Paul, Jesus, and on and on. But you know what? It's done nothing more than to cause
the weak to fall and the strong to get stronger. Think about it, 9-11??? What did it do? Caused renewed faith and an explosion in the Churches.
Now I believe he's turned his attention on the Teachers, Preachers and Prophets. "Let's disrupt
relationships in front of the congregation. That'll be a blow to thier faith and Church!" Or so he thinks.
But ya know what? At least in the case of my friends, they have gained spiritual strength from this
attack and are madder than ever at satan. And still "keeping the faith"!
As my Pastor recently quoted someone as saying, "I guess satan hasn't read the end of The Book. If he had, he'd know that in the end he looses..."
Is rain a gift of God or curse of satan?
I know that it's unimportant, but I wonder some off the wall thoughts. I know the answer, but I
found it an interesting item to ponder.
Is rain a gift of God or a curse of satan? Rain quenches the earth when the soil is crusted, it provides nourishment to wildlife and crops. But on the other hand, if outa control, it causes floods,
loss of property and life.
I believe that rain is a gift of God, but satan curses it and I can prove it in my own way.
If you look in Genesis, it says that the earth was encompassed with a firmament. Firmament as
referanced in the Bible was a layer of moisture, I think of it as that "haze" like you see in the movie Jurastic park or like you see it documentaries of deep in the rain forest.
So with firmament, there would have been no need for rain. The perfect ecosystem.
As I see it, the firmamnet was destroyed due to sin. All life would slowly begin to wither and die.
The "waters" that God separated would begin to dry due to non replenishment from the firmament. But God being the loving God that he is thought, "I can't let this happen to my
creation" and thus we have rain. Satan, since sin, was made ruler of this earth and because of this, he adds his curse to the rain which results in floods, deaths and other catostrophies.
